It is best to text or email me, rather than call (it just takes longer to transcribe a message to call you back). You will get the quickest response via text because that’s how my clients reach me.
Tell me about yourself and issues you want to address.
I generally return calls in the order received. I don’t have a wait list, but it does take a while to get through all the inquires. I am more available to receive and return calls on Tuesdays and Fridays.
If I don’t return your call in 2-3 weeks, it means that I am probably not accepting new clients. During peak times of the year, I apologize, but I am not able to return every inquiry.
I generally have openings with the change of seasons because child, teenage and college-aged clients usually have activities and school schedules with certain seasons. Every season, some people are looking to change their appointment time. The start of the school year usually means lots of requests for therapy. I usually don’t have many openings in November and December (schedule is full) and, with the interruption of the holidays, it means that I have less appointments those months. I also take the days off between Christmas and New Year’s. Another busy time is the beginning of a New Year because people change insurance providers, they may be recovering from holidays, end of the year layoffs or decided to seek mental health as part of their new goals for the year.
Summer is often a good time to start, as many regular clients are on vacation. Be aware that therapists are on vacation, too.
Once you’re able to get a response from me, it will still take a week or two for you to be scheduled, especially if you’re looking for a particular time. Sometimes people can start sooner if they are more flexible in the beginning and then they can move into a more optimal appointment time.
Before your first appointment, you will need to fill complete all electronic forms sent to you. This task may take an hour or two, sometimes spread out over several days. Your first appointment will be delayed if you didn’t sign the forms. Many of the forms are legally required to begin treatment.
